The embroidered botanical sculptures featured here grew from a desire to extend the Canadian gardening season into winter. preserving colour, form, and vitality beyond their natural cycle.
Form and surface are developed simultaneously, with embroidery used to articulate structure, texture, and movement. Together, these elements celebrate the enduring, universal resonance of the flower.
These handmade sculptures marked a breakthrough in my embroidery practice. They were exhibited as mobile installations titled Exuberance in Toronto and New York.
