The embroidered botanical sculptures featured here came from a desire to prolong the Canadian gardening season into winter.
To make these intricate pieces, I apply the bespoke tailoring skills I learned with an Italian master tailor. The shapes and embroidered surfaces celebrate the universal attraction of the flower.
These handmade sculptures were my breakthrough embroidery work. They were displayed in exhibitions in Toronto (2012) and New York (2014) as mobile installations titled, Exuberance.
